Alpha Gold Dark Instructions

Printing Your Transfer

  • Use for colored fabrics. 100% cotton fabrics give much better results that 50/50 blends but the paper may work on 50/50 blends. For best results, use our TransMagic! Inks™.
  • Select “plain paper” as your media type and use the medium print quality setting. Some printers use names for medium print quality like “Fine” and “Text and Image”. *Note— Do Not reverse or mirror the image, when you print it on the transfer paper.
  • Allow your print to air dry for a minute, before you put it in a heat press to transfer.

Pressing Instructions

  • Set your heat press for 375 degrees (50/50 shirts will need 345º, which means the transfer may not stick as well).
  • Once your press gets to temperature, close the press for one cycle to heat up the bottom platen.
  • Stretch your garment in all directions, and place it on your press. Close the press for 20 seconds and then release to get the moisture out of the shirt.
  • Trim away all excess paper from the printed transfer, then remove the transfer from the back. Position your transfer in the desired location, print side UP, and place the pressing sheet (parchment paper included or Alpha High Gloss pressing sheets), over the print. If you use a Teflon sheet protector, place it over everything.
  • Close the press and heat for 30 seconds, with firm pressure.
  • When you open the press, remove the parchment sheet. Note-parchment sheets can be used 3-4 times.
  • Do not wrinkle or stack garments while they are cooling.

Washing Instructions

  • For maximum colorfastness, wait 24 hours before washing and remember that garments must be washed in cold water (using the gentle cycle is suggested), with detergents that do not contain bleach. This also means detergents with so-called “colorfast” bleach.
  • Garments must be immediately removed from a washing machine (this is important, otherwise the colors will bleed).
  • Tumble dry on the cotton or high setting to set the inks.
  • After the initial wash, you may wash it normally with the rest of your washing however washing them inside out will keep the transfer looking better for much longer.
